What Data We Collect and Why

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to assist with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes visible to the public alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website may be able to download and extract any location data from images published on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website URL in cookies. These cookies last for one year and are purely for your convenience, so you do not have to re-enter your details on your next visit.

When you visit our login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we set cookies to save your login information and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days; screen option cookies last for one year. If you select "Remember Me," your login session persists for two weeks. Logging out removes all login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional short-lived cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article you last edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content · such as videos, images, or articles · from third-party platforms (e.g. YouTube, Skool). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if you had visited those websites directly. These third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including if you are logged in to their platform.

Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We use reputable third-party tools (such as Google Workspace, Skool, and Mailchimp/Brevo for newsletters) solely to operate our services. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and associated metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically. For users who register on this website, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or request deletion of their personal information at any time (with the exception of usernames). Website administrators can also access and edit this information.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request an export of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we delete any personal data we hold, except for data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security reasons. Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We do not transfer personal data outside of the platforms and processors described in this policy.
